Side note.
Why America cannot into real sugar? Why high fructose corn syrup?

It’s fookin candy flavored, isn’t it?
![]() 09/23/2016 at 15:57 |

As we know, due to the law of conservation of mass, all atoms and elements in nature are still here, in the same quantities. Therefore, everything is naturally flavored.
Unless...synthetic elements in our food?

Have you seen how much corn we have here?
We have to do something with it.
![]() 09/23/2016 at 16:02 |

Not really. It’s shit flavored.

Earwax candy tastes waaaaay better. Therefore it cannot be the same.

I mean, we got corn too but we certainly don’t have sugar cane, but all our sweet treats and food contain the white granulated powder.

Corn can grow in the states sugar cane can not I would assume because of this, it’s cheaper to source HFCS for products

Sugar cane would grow fine across a lot of the southeastern U.S. The reason we have so much corn and HFCS is so cheap is that the federal government subsidizes corn. Combined with corn’s high yield, that makes it a very safe choice for farmers to grow, at the expense of many other crops they might consider. Also, the government subsidizes a lot of other things that grow well in the environments sugar cane would do well in, such as cotton, soybeans, rice, and peanuts.

corn is heavily subsidized.

What do you mean by “real sugar”? Just in granule form? Because I don’t think C6H12O6 cares what plant it comes from, it still has the same structure and characteristics.

I guess so, we do grow corn here in the UK, but hfcs is not in anything over here.

Goes back to the sugar embargo from WWII. Look it up, it is quite sad and funny.

I mean pure, grade a Colombian bam bam here. made from the canes, you now the shit that used to go into my tea and coffee (before I cut it out for health reasons).

is it a big corn conspiracy? is big corn trying to oppress the sugar cane farmers? should I have the shiny side facing in or out on my Tinfoil hat?
damn subsidies.

There is nothing natural about it.
On a side note there isnt an official policy by the FDA or USDA on what natural is. So if its advertised its all BS.

That is to quote a certain Cheeto (or Wotsit if like me, you are British) “sad! we are gonna subsidize the corn, and make you pay for it!”. I work for an american company and we can’t do business with Cuba despite not being in america.
